Jan. 29, 2010: Charlie R. Barnett’s Script in Pre-Production

Charlie R. Barnett (ProSeries 19) has teamed up with Director/Producer Mark Priems on a low-budget film.  Charlie wrote the script titled “The Neighbor from Hell. ”   They have funding in place and production is scheduled to start in March, 2010.    Sounds like a fun movie.  Can’t wait, Charlie. 

Jan. 29, 2010: Jennifer Quintenz’s Script makes the Black List

Jennifer Quintenz (ProSeries 10) had her one-hour drama pilot THRALL voted onto the Runway TV Pilot Black List.    Previously, Jennifer was a staff writer on “Wicked Wicked Games” on Fox Network and “American Heiress” on My Network TV.   Currently, she has a feature and her pilot being shopped.   More news coming up.  Way [...]

Jan. 15, 2010: Derek Lively had Award Winning Script Optioned

Derek Lively (ProSeries 15) has his script optioned by Harrison Reiner, who was a development executive on My Left Foot and Cinema Paradiso.    The script won the 2008 Hollywood Black Film Festival Storyteller Competition.    Great job, Derek! 

Jan. 14, 2010: Si Dunn Gets Deal, Makes Hollywood Reporter

Si Dunn (ProSeries 3) has been written up in Hollywood Reporter for a script that was picked up by Drac Studios .  Titled “Dead in the Water,” the movie is currently in pre-production.  The movie will be directed by Rob Walker and produced by Drac president Harvey Lowry.  See the Hollywood Reporter article here and a list of IMDB [...]

Jan. 12, 2010: Orlanda Szabo Paid for Adaptation of Book

Orlanda Szabo (ProSeries 19) has been hired to adapt the Terry R. Brooks novel FATHER ROCK, a rock ‘n roll sci fi into a screenplay.   She is being paid up front and credited with “screenplay/adaptation by.”  This is Orlanda’s third paid writing assignment.  You can see her website here.  You’re flying, Orlanda.  Keep at it.  

Jan. 5, 2010: Clark Ransom’s Script Optioned!

Clark Ransom (ProSeries 20) had his dramedy script, THE IMPOSTERS, optioned by Canadian producer Christopher Cinnamon.  Great job, Clark!  The first of many to come.

Jan. 2, 2010: Karen Mueller Bryson Acquires Story Rights

Karen Mueller Bryson (ProSeries 21) has acquired the story rights to Amy Arnold’s story.  Amy is a former professional women’s football player, who led a ragtag first-year boy’s football team to the prep school league championship game in Arizona. Karen also won a $5000 scholarship to Writer’s Boot Camp.  Congratulations on both, Karen.
