In the midst of creating, developing, and delivering classes or articles to educate students about screenwriting and the entertainment industry, ScreenwritingU has made use of some script examples which are part of copyrighted materials.

It is believed that this constitutes a "fair use" of any such copyrighted material as provided for in section 107, Title 17 U.S.C of the US Copyright Law. The material on this site is used for research and educational purposes.

We believe this to be "fair use" because:

A) Our purpose is to educate students and others who read this website or take our classes.

B) We only use small portions of a script as an example for some articles or lessons.

C) We comment on, analyze, or draw conclusions based upon the portion of a script used.

D) We believe our students and readers often rent or buy the movies we use examples from, thus bringing more income to the copyright holder.
