Write a Screenplay

The easiest way to write a screenplay is to give your hero an emotional goal and have another character oppose it with all their might.  Instantly, you have conflict, tension, and two forces struggling against each other.

But if you want your writing to be truly professional, you need to have every part of each scene deliver meaning and emotion in some way.  Take a look at the first scene in the screenplay THE HANGOVER, written by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore.

In less than a page and a half, we've put these characters in a challenging situation, have a setup/payoff that delivers a punch, and created a major hook for the entire movie.

The writing appears so simple, yet it accomplishes so much.

Obviously, to get there, you need to know the basics of writing a script, how to deliver character, fill scenes with meaning, and keep
the audience entertained.
