Her short script “Rapunzel – The Blonde Years” was selected for the Irish Film Board’s Virtual Cinema Scheme in March 2008. Rapunzel was shot on location in an Irish castle in April and is currently in post-production. It will premiere at the Darklight Film Festival in Dublin, Ireland at the end of June 2008, and has secured a sales agent and international distribution. Rapunzel was directed by Pro-Series Alumnus Fiona Ashe.
Meanwhile, another of Trish’s short scripts “Puppy Love” was shortlisted for the RTE/Filmbase Short Film Award in Dublin. There were 8 scripts shortlisted out of 220 entries, and the top 3 scripts will go into production for broadcast on Irish national television. Fiona Ashe will also direct “Puppy Love”. A panel interview on project feasibility on May 15th will decide which 3 projects will receive production funding.
Trish has just signed a contract with publishers Mercier Press in Cork for an historical biography titled “The Petticoat Rebellion”, which will be published in 2009. She’s writing the screenplay in parallel as a high concept period drama set in Victorian Ireland.
