Laree’ D. Griffith (ProSeries 26) was one of the writers on the movie HALLOWEEN PARTY that just qualified for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
The announcement came out yesterday, after producer Linda Palmerspearheaded an innovative marketing campaign to get the movie considered for a possible Academy Award. The song “Voodoo” was written and performed by Nashville songwriters CJ Watson and Bruce Michael Miller.
The movie won “Best Soundtrack” at the Laughlin International Film Festival, with 22 songs coming from Shadow Mountain Publishing, LLC in Nashville.
Other screenwriters on the movie included Linda Palmer, Mark Cardone, Betsy Morris, and Chris Pentzell. Hal Croasmun of ScreenwritingU is an Associate Producer on the project.
Over the next three weeks, the Academy will decide which of the 75 qualified songs will be nominated.
Very exciting time for Laree’, Linda, CJ, Bruce, and the rest of the Halloween Party team.
