ScreenwritingU Alum Laura McLaughlin ( ProSeries 45, MSC 5) sold her contained thriller PUSHING BUTTONS to Eric H. Bernard of Have Not Films. The film is scheduled for production in 2018 in the UK. Congratulations, Laura!

Victoria Slater of Minor Distractions Entertainment has optioned ScreenwritingU Alum, Karl Archer's (ProSeries 55, MSC 6) comedy screenplay titled BALLBREAKER. Karl wrote the script in ScreenwritingU's Master Screenwriter Certificate Program. Previous to this success, he had his thriller screenplay optioned by Susannah Devereux of White Island Pictures. Lauren de Normandie of Status Media Entertainment has purchased and produced ScreenwritingU Alum Ian Patrick William's (ProSeries 25) script Gangster Land (2017) GANGSTER LAND examines Al Capone's rise to power through the eyes of "Machine Gun" Jack McGurn. Producer Jeremy John Wells known for his work on Hilton Head Island (2017), Best Mom (2018) and 7th Heaven (1996) has optioned ScreenwritingU Alum  Isabel Baldree's  (ProSeries 33, MSC 2) screenplay titled A LEG UP. The script based on Louis Castriota, Jr.'s memoir "Leg Up: The Courage to Dream, is the story of the 13-year journey to build a therapeutic farm for special needs

ScreenwritingU Alum Bonnie Maffei (ProSeries 48 & MSC 7) has landed representation with Andi Frazin, who will represent Bonnie’s Comedy/Fantasy script, BECOMING PICASSO. Bonnie wrote the screenplay in ScreenwritingU's Master Screenwriter Certificate Program and connected with Andi during the marketing phase. Congratulations, Bonnie!

ScreenwritingU Alum Jeff Gress (ProSeries 54, MSC 5) had his screenplay optioned by Ron Singer of “That’s Hollywood Pictures.” Ron Singer is a producer known for I AM MICHAEL (2015) starring  James Franco, Zachary Quinto, Emma Roberts, and IN DUBIOUS BATTLE (2016) starring  Nat Wolff, James Franco, Vincent D'Onofrio. The film is currently in development.

ScreenwritingU Alum, Martin Gomez (ProSeries 37, MSC 4)  had his supernatural thriller, FIRE IN THE WALLS, optioned by producer Lisa Bruhn.
